Challenge

The Corporate Finance division at ANZ wanted to connect their global teams and significantly broaden their mindset, thinking and understanding of how evolving AI technologies will impact what wholesale banking looks like in the short, medium and long-term. ANZ partnered with The Strategy Group to research, develop and deliver engaging and interactive thought-leadership sessions with Australian, US and UK cohorts. This program focused on the AI trends and forces influencing the global wholesale banking division so that the Corporate Finance team could expand its perspective and prepare for the possibilities of an AI future.

Approach

Developing tailored and practical AI capability training for global Corporate Finance teams

The Strategy Group conducted extensive market research, pulled together relevant case studies from previous engagements, and designed practical toolsets to develop a hands-on training session with ANZ’s Corporate Finance team across US, UK and Australasian geographies.

In parallel, empathetic one-on-one interviews were conducted with a range of ANZ’s Corporate Finance executives to understand their inside-out views on the current wholesale banking landscape and prominent trends in AI to get a broad understanding of AI readiness, perceptions and attitudes.

Outcomes

A practical thought leadership program that challenged thinking, connected teams and upskilled ANZ’s people in foundational AI literacy and opportunities for adoption

The Strategy Group used data and evidence from secondary research and qualitative research to develop a comprehensive AI thought leadership program targeted toward ANZ’s Corporate Finance teams based in the UK, US and Australasian markets. The outcome was a set of tailored, informative, insightful and interactive sessions that challenged the thinking of different teams and broadened their understanding AI technologies, surrounding macro-trends, and how they might navigate the impact on the industry over the next few years and beyond through practical principles, workflows and toolsets.
