Strategy-focused learning for Senior Leaders at RPV

Rail Projects Victoria (RPV) were seeking a program for their senior leaders and Executives that will help them lead with clarity and encourage the adoption of new skills, practices and innovative thinking.
The Strategy Group were engaged to develop and facilitate a program that would encourage collaborative discussions around leadership and corporate strategy to enable participants to enhance their analytical and strategic decision-making skills.
Facilitating forum-style sessions around carefully chosen case studies from Australian corporate history that highlights key strategic issues.
The Strategy Group specifically designed a program for senior leaders, offering a series of forum-style sessions to equip them with the necessary confidence and clarity to address complex project challenges and make strategic decisions. Participants were divided into groups of no more than 12 people, with each session lasting 90 minutes that allowed for the debating of key issues centred around a case study from Australian corporate history. Issues such as decision-making, leadership, strategy, culture, ethics, and morality in times of rapid change, disruption and increased accountability were discussed in each session.
Participants were sent the case study one week prior to their session to have the opportunity to understand the content and come prepared with discussion points.
A leadership program that explored the ramifications of decision-making within and outside an organisation
RPV leaders who undertook the program were able to gain a deep understanding into a number of significant boardroom events that have transpired in recent Australian history, delving into the issues, ethics and challenges faced by board members. Through the forum-style discussion, each participant had an opportunity to reflect on their own personal and professional growth as leaders, whilst also engaging with peers on high-level leadership and strategic decision-making issues.
